Thumbs Up to All Blacks’ Tweeters; Go The All Blacks

All Black Lashes Out Over Twitter Story

Our initial response to the story: oh my gosh(hair pulling around the desk) something bad’s going down with our boys.  Until we read it.  Final response: Laughter  with other Samoans in New Zealand, and abroad, who know them.  What’s mainstream media doing writing a story like this?

This is, perhaps, more tongue in cheek than anything else.We are fans of the NZHerald by the way. But frankly, who really cares if one of our boys in black tweets about the Game. Or their reactions to selection?  It wasn’t a bomb threat. And they weren’t threatening to join a terrorist cell in London. Or did we miss that tweet?

Tweeter is one of more than 54 social media tools out there.  It is to be expected that most of the computer literate world will use, at least, one of these social media tools. Why impose MI5-like scrutiny on the mundane and the routine that commits neither a crime nor an injustice? Otherwise, mainstream, or even ethnic-specific stories, like that will continue to  add to the fodder of  light-hearted humour around Samoan circles  around the planet.

Thanks for the laughs this morning. Let’s focus on the game ahead now against England.

Go the All Blacks.
